Cresent is thought by the Brush God Yumigami and with it Amaterasu can turn day into night. This is very useful if you want to explore an area at night and you do not want to wait. It works by drawing a backwards C in the sky, after a short cut scene the time will change.
Cresent can also be used in the final battle with Yami to call forth a giant version of Nagi that will chop him in half.
