Hayate is Ryoshima Coast's messenger, he is of course the younger brother of Ida who can be found in Shinshu Field.

You first meet him in Sei'an City where the poisonous mist has paralysed him , however he still tries to pull himself up to complete his job. After the mist has been removed he can be found in South Ryoshima Coast and if you catch up with him he will challenge you to a race. Every time you bet him he will reward you with Praise but on the third and final time he will give you a Stray Bead.
