Imps are the first and most basic beasts you will come across. They come in five different varieties and are found throughout the whole of Nippon. They are very easy to beat and stand more as obstacles to slow Amaterasu down than full on enemies. They are seen as cheeky and monkey-like who enjoy music. They all wear paper masks with red markings on and their symbol is the Infinity sign.

Green Imps

These Imps are the first and easiest to beat. They often appear along side other, stronger Imps instead of by themselves, and are usually in packs of two or three. They hold a flute which they use to shoot things at Amaterasu, although this does not do much, if any damage.

Bestiary Entry

Rude monkey-like creatures that harass and tease humans. Whether frightening the locals or causing outbreaks of disease, these troublemakers have proven to be the bane of humanity. Said to hide in gloomy places, they are portrayed as flautists.

Red Imp

Red Imps

The red imps are often found alongside Green and Yellow imps. They play a lute with they use to smash down on Ammy to attack. If stunned, they will turn grey briefly, and this will be the chance to Power Slash the strings on the lute, breaking it. The imp will then be defenceless.

Bestiary Entry

Thes lute-players are harder to exorcise than Green Imps. One night, a man heard lute music and went out to find the source. Hiding in the shadows, he saw the Imps stop playing and drink sake. Seeing his chance to attack, the man struck out, severing the lute strings with his blade. The Imps disappeared in a wisp of smoke. It is advisable to cut the strings with a brush.

Yellow Imp

These are the biggest imps of all. They brandish a large drum and dive underground to avoid attacks. When they pop up they will beat on their drum a few times, finishing with one big pound, that causes harmful shockwaves to tremble across the ground, these need to be avoided by jumping.

Bestiary Entry

Folklore has it that these Imps never cease in their mischief. Burrowing beneath the ground, they sound their mighty drums. The drums' vibrations shake the earth. Jump to avoid this attack. Legends tell us to lure them from the ground and strike them from behind. Though riddled with disease, they are often portrayed whimsically. These stories are meant to make them seem less threatening.

Blue Imp

The blue imps are able to take to the skies using a giant kite. Whilst flying, they are hard to reach and shoot things at Amaterasu. They can be knocked out of the sky using Galestorm.

Bestiary Entry

Unique among their brethen, these Imps display a penchant for flying through the air while strapped to kites. Tossing insults and rude language from above, they float menacingly. Their offensive nature is only matched by their clever wits. Tales abound of their crashing due to strong gusts of wind.

Black Imp

Black Imp

The most fearsome and hardest to beat imp, different in appearance to the other imps in the fact that they do not wear masks, instead having red markings on their face and horns and tusks. They have four skulls floating around them which can shoot lasers, though these can be destroyed with a power slash. They carry a small drum, most probably a bongo, although this is never stated for sure.

Bestiary Entry

Regarded as the most fearsome Imp, tales abound of their evil nature. The skulls they manipulate are said to be those of human victims. The act of drawing them is thought to bring doom on one's house. Exorcising the skulls with the brush before viewing is advised. If you've no brush, use a finger to draw a slash through them.
