Nagi is not as brave as the legends make him seem.

Nagi is Kamiki Village's legendary hero of the past and the ancestor of Susano. 100 years ago he was the one that killed the Orochi along side Shiranui and sealed it in his great sword Tsukuyomi, thus freeing Nippon from evil. He is also the partner of Nami and it was she that inspired him to kill the Orochi.

Susano is angry of his ancestry as everyone expects him to be noble and brave like Nagi, they expect him to follow in his footsteps and go out to slay lots of monsters. However when Amaterasu travels back through the Spirit Gate we find out that Susano is in fact very much like Nagi.

Battling Nagi

As everyone thinks that Amaterasu is the familiar of the Orochi they are afraid of her. When Nagi sees her her fights her to try and scare her away. After Amaterasu wins the fight she must dress Nagi up in the sacrificial robes and bring him to Moon Cave to face his destiny.

Attacks

Nagi is quite an easy opponent, only having two attacks, a sword firing attack and a sword slashing attack. He will fire five swords at Amaterasu which she can either dodge or deflect back at him to stun him. You should attack him with your Divine Instrument whenever you have the chance.

"This legendary hero, with Shiranui, defeated Orochi 100 years ago. His style was to act cowardly to fool his opponent, then strike. He epitomizes the saying "A smart falcon hides it claws from view."

Trivia

• Nagi is the only cross dressing character in the game as he is dressed up in Nami's sacrificial robe.

• Nagi's armour similar to the God's Divine Markings (White with red designs).

• Nagi is immune to most Brush Techniques, therefore he can only be killed using your Weapons. The only exception is that Thief's Glove still works.

• Three copies of Nagi appear in the Kamui Devil Gate Trial Cave. However they are much stronger.
