Color Requests and Discussions

Notice.png This discussion page is for requesting specific colors for games, as well as new color types. If a new color is approved by a Staff Member, it will be stored in the Template and become and automatically available.

If you would like to request a new color code for a color type that has already been defined in the database, add the following code on a new line under that color's sub-section of section Color Requests:

{{Color Request|Color Type|Game Name|Color Code}}

If you would like to request a color code for a color type not listed in the database, add the following code under section Color Requests (edit).

===Color Type===

{{Color Request|Color Type|Game Name|Color Code}}

Once a request has been submitted, Template:Color Request will use automatic detection to place one of two images next to it.

  • Positive.png This means that the color has been added to the database.
  • Negative.png This means that the color has not been added to the database.

If you would like to discuss specific colors for a game, or a game's whole color scheme, do so under that game's sub-section of section Color Discussions. If the game's section does not exist, you may create it.

If a Staff Member feels that a particular requested color is unfit for a game, he/she will make a note under the game's sub-section, as well as place a link next to the color request, titled "Pending", that points directly to the game's sub-section. At this point, unless you can convince the Staff Member that the color is appropriate, it will not be added, so it's suggested that you take part in the discussion for a better color.

  • If you're requesting a hex color code, do not forget the #, please capitalize all letters (for consistency; you don't really have to), and always use all six letters and/or digits (not just three as in a CSS shortcut).
  • Please sign all discussion comments with ~~~~

The colors look great and are very fitting, thank you! By the way, is there a way to change the color of the Hub header from blue to yellow to match?

Yes. Just visit the non-talk version of this page for the details. I just tried a few variations around and the color combinations made it harsh on the eyes when not in larger amounts. You just use

{{Color|Rowbg}} or {{Color|Rowbg-alt}}
To specify the color. No # before it either.

Ok, I changed it now, I hope people don't find it annoying, I tried to find a pale yellow that would feel too bright.

These colors are pretty dark. If someone can provide lighter ones of similar hue, I'll be willing to switch in those.

Can do, aslong as it's a red shade, and not a pickish one, I'm cool with that. Is there anyway to change the colour of the links?

Well, I can technically force all links using Template:Link, Template:Cat and Template:Image to be a certain, Hub-specific color, but the rollover underline color is still going to be blue/purple, which looks dumb. The best route would be to get a Wiki Admin to add some CSS to MediaWiki:Common.css, but they're not always available, it would probably require me to tweak Template:Auto, and it would generally be bad practice to place it on the stylesheet because then the same CSS, although ineffective on other hubs, would waste time loading on other Hubs.
